Dr. Shirley grew up in Duluth, MN and attended his pre-vet school at the College of St. Thomas. He graduated from the University of Minnesota College of Veterinary Medicine in 1984. After graduation, Dr. Shirley began work with Dr. Halls at Miller Trunk Veterinary Clinic. Dr. Shirley became practice owner in 1987. When Dr. Shirley is not at work, he enjoys spending time with his wife, Abby, and sharing their interests of outdoor sports and watching Bulldog hockey.
Elijah Shirley began his career at Miller Trunk Veterinary Clinic in 2007. What he lacked in experience, he compensated for with his positive attitude and charisma. Eli lives with his Mom, Dad, and feline sister Jobi. In his free time, he enjoys chasing balls, eating, hanging out with human or canine friends, and napping.
Angela started at Miller Trunk Veterinary Clinic in March of 2014. Originally from Michigan's Upper Peninsula, she graduated from Gogebic Community College in 2008. After working in the plastic injection molding industry for just over 10 years, she moved to Duluth in June of 2013 to begin a long-awaited career in animal care. She enjoys exploring the Twin Ports' walking trails, agate hunting, kayaking, watching all kinds of movies, practicing yoga and spending time with her rescue beagles Bonnie and Baxter.
Nicole joined Miller Trunk Veterinary Clinic in September of 2015. She has been a lifelong resident of the Twin Ports area and graduated from the Duluth Business University's Veterinary Technician program in 2015. She spent her internship working with dogs and cats at the University of Minnesota Veterinary Medical Center. She has always had a passion for improving the health and well being of animals. She enjoys spending time with her family, camping, reading, traveling, and visiting historic museums.
Vee joined Miller Trunk Veterinary Clinic in January of 2017. Vee is a recent graduate of Duluth Business University's Veterinary Technician program. She spent her internship working at the Lake County Veterinary Clinic. She has an interest in veterinary dentistry and hopes to specialize in that field one day. In her free time, you will most likely find her kayaking (only in the summer of course), gardening, or trying to figure out new recipes to make in the kitchen!
